The diffuser plate gasket is probably damaged.

Changing this capsule-piercing plate could not be easier:

- Step 1: unplug your appliance
- Step 2: remove the removable capsule holder
- Step 3: close the capsule holder's handle. In doing this, the plate lowers, revealing a pin-sized hole on the top.
- Step 4: take a paper clip, open it fully and insert it into the hole to unclip the plate
- Step 5: check the condition of the gasket and, if necessary, change the entire part, then put it back together (the piercer must be placed facing you)
